On the launch of Eurovision Asia

The delegation welcomes the first Eurovision Song Contest Asia and congratulates the eleven countries competing in Bangkok on 14 November. The contest now spans two continents. We note, without bitterness, that neither of them is ours.

We will be watching the Grand Final live at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Our standing offer to the EBU now extends to both contests.

On Canada's Eurovision debut

The delegation notes Canada's debut with great interest and a little envy. We welcome our neighbors to the contest and look forward to watching the Grand Final alongside them.

We remain available should the EBU wish to discuss a second North American entry.
